From 16 March, you can apply for a visitor’s permit digitally. You can do this if you are applying from within Sweden or via the Swedish Embassy in Bangkok.
The new digital application means that you can apply, pay any fees, and make an appointment to provide fingerprints and take a photo for your visitor’s permit card via the website of the Swedish Migration Agency. The digital application can be used both if you are applying for a visitor’s permit for the first time, and if you are applying for an extension of your visit to Sweden.
The paper form has also been altered. This means that if you have any printed forms, you may need to replace them with the new ones. The form for children has been removed. If you are applying for a child, you should use the same form as is used for an adult.
If you are outside Sweden, you must submit your application at a Swedish embassy or general consulate.
